Everyone has been handed a technology and no instructions. SynthOS is the plain-language guide we wish existed. Which tool for which job, what it really costs, and when to ignore all of it.
The point
Six questions nobody answers straight.
Not because they are hard. Because the people who know the answers are talking to each other, and the people selling you something would rather you did not ask.
- Which one should I use for this?
- There are hundreds of them now, all named like sports cars, and the answer changes every month. It should take one sentence to find out.
- What is this actually costing me?
- Credits, tokens, seats, plans that renew, plans that expire. You should be able to see the number before you spend it, not after.
- Where does what I type go?
- A fair question that usually gets answered in a privacy policy nobody finishes. It deserves a straight answer in plain words.
- Is it making this up?
- Sometimes. Knowing when to trust an answer is the most useful skill here, and almost nobody teaches it.
- Do I need the expensive one?
- Usually not. Knowing when you do is worth more than any subscription.
- What is everyone talking about?
- Agents, context, fine-tuning, RAG. Real ideas buried under bad names. They are all explainable without the vocabulary.

Honest about cost
What it costs, before you commit. Nothing hidden behind a credit system that expires quietly.
No hype either direction
It is not magic and it is not the end of the world. Both stories sell better than the truth, and both waste your time.
It will tell you not to bother
Sometimes the right answer is that AI is the wrong tool for what you are doing. A guide that never says so is an advert.
Who is building it
A three-person engineering studio in Dubai.
We spend the rest of our time on hardware: thermal design and local-first systems for equipment that has to keep working in 48 °C. That work pays for this one, which means SynthOS does not need to sell you anything to exist.
It also means we publish what we align to and what we have not earned yet, rather than implying certifications we do not hold. That is on/security, and the engineering side is at/thermal.
